Bid Farwell To The "Top Gun" Cottage....

The city has finally decided after 8+ years of city meetings to get rid of the cottage that was used in "Top Gun"..Charlie's house. It was painted about 6 years ago blue, it was gray in the movie. The city has said they can't destroy the cottage because of it's past, but have to move it to a new location..we will see about that, a hotel has bought the lots....so here is the finally look of the one and only "Top Gun" cottage!! It will be sad to have it out of the neighborhood!!

This is what the cottage looked like before they cut all the tree's down a couple of weeks ago....

Front View...

The porch that Maverick (Tom) and Charlie (Kellie) had drinks...

This is the street that Maverick drove his motorcycle up to get to Charlie's cottage.....

This is what I found on the internet site about the cottage....

Top Gun Cottage (1887)

This sweet Victorian was built for a local developer named Graves. It is the oldest, and last best beachfront cottage in Oceanside. Featured in the movie Top Gun, it has consequently has been known as the Top Gun Cottage. The site is threatened by the huge hotel development proposed by Manchester Resort Hotels and the City of Oceanside. The cottage is on a corner of the property and could easily be integrated into the development and used as an adjunct facility to the hotel. Right now it appears it will be moved off site, out of context, with its use yet to be determined.

Sea World Last Time For 2007

I bravely took the girls by myself to Sea World one last time for 2007, It went pretty well, they were all alive when we left :)...Here are some fun pictures (once again) of the day....

The Girls in the Polar Bear cave.....

There was a reindeer and...

A camel visiting Sea World for Christmas..the camel was very cute!!!

The girls waiting for Shamu show to start...very exciting!!

You all remember last time Rylee was sacred to death about this "PAINT" man at the Sea Lion show, so this time she said, she wanted to go see him and she wasn't scared anymore, she would not stop talking about it till we got to the show.... and of course as soon as the "PAINT" man comes out she starts screaming in horror and wanting to leave. I am at that point not sure how to get Joslyn and all of our stuff out with a screaming child...anyway she ended up hiding behind Morgan, peering out from behind her watching this "PAINT" man...needless to say by the end of the show she had moved up by us and off this poor guys feet and laughing because the "PAINT" man was so funny!! I tell ya....

This is Rylee hiding behind Morgan....

Morgan saw it was time to feed the sea lions, so she begged me to buy some food so SHE could feed them. So, we got the little tiny fish and went over to feed them. Morgan went to pick up the first fish and got grossed out, so she said here Mom, why don't you do the first one and I will do the rest...YEAH, so, as I feed the sea lions the last fish and the girls not wanting to touch them. I told Morgan next time we aren't feeding the animals if she wasn't going to do it... so, Morgan tells me, "Mom, you do so much for us, I thought is would be nice if we let you feed the Sea Lions all the fish, you are such a good Mom and I know you would enjoy it"..whatever, they were to scared to touch the slimy fish...nice try!!!

Jesus Wants Me For A SUNBEAM!!!

Rylee is official a SUNBEAM, she was ready to go to church, Book of Mormon in hand...she has been so excited the last month waiting to be a sunbeam!! She went in today for the first time and loved her teacher and babbled none stop all the way home of things that they did...including her going to time out...she didn't remember why...a little convenient. Her teacher is sooooo amazing everyone just waits for it to be there turn for there child to go to Sunbeams....she is very structured and strict (nicely) she has that class in tip top shape. You move wrong in your chair and she gives the "that is not acceptable" look and they sit straight up with there arms folded!! It is great. She is very loving and wonderful with the kids!!

A Must Have....

This is my new favorite toy...these automatic scissors. Oh, they are fun. Boomer and I have been going around the house cutting up things!! I would highly recommend a pair in your home!!

Our Winter Afternoon on the BEACH!!!

I was taking down the Christmas tree and went outside to throw something away and it felt a like a sauna outside..I didn't reliaze the Santa Anna winds moved in (HOT winds from the desert) ...I ran back in the house and looked at my thermometer, (which I LOVE) and it was 80 degree's outside...so, of course what do you do when it is 80 degree's...the girls instantly ran and got their swimsuits on and we were off to the beach!! The water is freezing, so they couldn't stay in for a long period, so they just ran in and out of the waves, then would warm up on the sand. I tlasted for about an hour, then the winds shifted and this really, really cool breeze came off the ocean....so we ran back home. So, now you get to look at my many, many, many pictures :)
