SMITTY, We Miss You!!!

I have to share a story....Smitty, my kids GREAT GRANDPA passed away last year. He was a one of kind man, an incredible person. Our little Joslyn, since he passed away prays in EVER pray, anytime a day and asks for him to come back alive. It is the sweetest most tender prayer. She talks about him often and misses him ALWAYS.  Tonight she came in my room and said that she was missing Great Grandpa Smith, I gave her a hug and sent her back to bed. A few minutes later she was absolutely SOBBING and couldn't breathe because her heart missed him so much. I ran in her room and kneeled by her bed and we hugged. Her sister Rylee heard the discussions and brought in the program for Smitty's funeral, she had in her special box of things. On the front cover is a picture of Smitty and his wife Naoma, from the earlier years, inside is another picture of him younger. Joslyn took the program and started just sobbing again, she said, "I need a picture of the old Grandpa, my GREAT GRANDPA...I need to see him old." I ran into my computer found the pictures from his 90th birthday party, 2 years earlier. I printed off a picture of us with Smitty and took it into her. We taped it to her bed. She felt better and just kept touching the picture. We talked over and over again that we were going to see him again. Lots of questions were asked, many were answered.
We said goodnight again, and 5 minutes later she was sobbing....what a sweet little spirit. She is now down in her Daddy's arms, who else better then a Daddy to love you, like his Grandpa use to love him. Hopefully she can be comforted and go to sleep. Sweet memories. I love a child's TENDER HEARTS!!!

On another note...Luke just came running in the room and looked up at Morgan in excitement and said, "Morgan you are Morgan, not a Zombie, I am so excited you are not a Zombie"..seriously, never a dull moment.

Golfing At The Park With Dad!!

We took the family to the park last night, for some very, needed time with Boomer. He is in his busy season, so we don't get to see him that much. Boomer and Luke spent most the time golfing. Boomer has always taught Luke to follow through on his swing and Luke as become a pro at that.....here is a great video Boomer took.

White Sands, New Mexico

We just got back from Spring Break. We were so excited to go explore New Mexico. Our first was Roswell, to eat at the McDonald's that looks like a SPACE SHIP, the kids LOVED it. Roswell had ALIENS at ever business, painted or a statue, the kids got a kick out of seeing them everywhere. The street lights were even white heads with BIG ALIEN eyes.
We headed to Carlsbad RV park, to park the camper. It was fun little RV park with a park and a CLOSED down indoor pool, YES, the kids were ticked. The next morning we headed out to WHITE SANDS, NEW MEXICO. It is 20 minutes from the WHITE SANDS MISSILE range. There is a big sign as you drive into town that says, "White Sands will be closed when were are launching missiles."
The drive was AMAZING. We had to drive through the mountains. We drove through the sweetest little towns. The first one was the city of HOPE, it was fun. Little old cabins and old stores. The next town was Mayhill, this was a cute little quaint town, this one actually had an elementary school. The last town was called Cloudcroft, this one was a little bigger, it actually had a small ski resort, in the middle of now where. The lift was right by the road. As you leave Cloudcroft, in the break of the mountain you could see a plain of WHITE...of course being from, Utah it looks like snow. BUT, it is sand. It was an amazing sight.
When you get closer you drive into the park and as you drive about 8 miles, the road ends and you are driving on the sand. It was so fun and breathe taking.
We were told by someone to take some cardboard down and use that to slide down the hills..that soooooo does not work. So, I jumped in the car and went to the gift shop were you could buy/rent sleds. Those were AWESOME.  I also bought some wax to put on the bottom. Rylee loved that, she waxed hers every run and would fly down the sand. We realized it was just has fun to run down the hill, we had a blast doing that.
It was a PERFECT day, the upper 70's. The BEST thing was the sun would get HOT, but the sand was cool, the further you stuck your feet in, the colder it got. We had a very fun filled FAMILY day!!!

On the drive I taught the kids something that will take them far in life....the PRINGLE duck bill. They got a kick out of that..... The upper right picture is Luke's new signature move..you will see it in ALOT of pictures throughout the pictures.

Driving into the White Sand park...

This picture had to be posted by itself..Luke had the first CRASH of the day. I was so excited to get it the PERFECT picture of it :0) After he crashed he sat up and spit out the sand and wiped off his face, and said, "let's do it again".....He is a trooper. He walked up and down the hill, more than anyone. He was in HEAVEN!!!

This was a WORKING trip for Boomer, so sadly he was on his computer most the time, but he had fun too....

THE BEST PICTURE EVER..Boomer and I booking it down the hill. We started with our hands held, but I realized fast, if I didn't let go, it was going to be him PULLING  me down the hill. This might have to be our Christmas card :0)
The Lower left picture is of Rylee hitting the bottom of the HILL hard, she felt it in the morning, she was a little sore. She was laughing so hard, I don't think she realized how hard she actually hit.

So, things to remember next time. DO NOT WEAR anything with pockets, we had SAND EVERYWHERE. The sand came off our body with baby powder very easily. But, we all had a THICK paste on the bottom of our feet. It took us about 30 min to get it all off, baby powder didn't work and water made a hard paste. So, we had to scrape and dig that stuff off. It is actually not sand it's stuff called gypsum. If you want to learn more about it, click HERE.

Stay tuned for more pictures of SPRING BREAK 2012!!!

A SELF STANDING TEE...SERIOUSLY!!!!

Luke LOVES to TEE UP, but in the winter it was a hard thing to conquer. He would spend hours trying to get his tee to stand up in the carpet, to hit the ball once, then would have to try it again. It was a very frustrating process for the poor little guy. SO, you can imagine that Boomer became the COOLEST DAD ON THE PLANET, when he brought home a self standing TEE.....OH THE EXCITEMENT!!! The little man can tee it up all day!!!! The tote in the back ground is my make shift target for him, so I don't have balls EVERYWHERE....

Decorating For Christmas.....

YES, yes, yes, I know it is April, but here is my Christmas pictures.....

We had just got back from Louisiana and were SOOOO excited to get out tree up. Our tree has been with us for A LONG time, many moves, many tiny apartments. So, in this house we have right now it looks like a mini, mini tree :0) Morgan was so excited this year that she was taller then it. We take turns putting the start on the tree, which usually means, I have to go look at the year before Christmas to see who;s turn it is...it was Joslyn's turn the year. SHE WAS SOOOOO EXCITED.
After we got the tree all done, the kids were SO HYPER and were crazy in ALL the pictures. FUN TIMES!!!!

WE LOVE THE SNOW!!!!

We randomly got a fun snow storm a few weeks ago, the kids had fun playing in it while it lasted. We built a snowman, but we couldn't get anything to stick in the snow to make a face, so we tried food coloring. Well, now it just looks like a ZOMBIE SNOWMAN...
