SHE is FINALLY a WHOLE HAND!!!

Joslyn's FINALLY turned 5. She was soooooo excited to be a WHOLE HAND!!! She is looking forward to be 5 because....she gets to go to Kindergarten, and she gets MORE BIGGER!!!!
It was a FUN day. She had many stages throughout the day doing different things. She opened presents in the morning with myself, Rylee and Luke. Boomer was out of town on business and Morgan had to leave to school, before Joslyn had woke up. So, we opened presents in the morning, birthday party with friends in the afternoon and opened presents again with Morgan. She had a BLAST!!!

Jos and Luke help me make her cake, we had fun making all the fun colors
for the inside of the cake.

This is Joslyn waiting PATIENTLY for her friends to get here to play. She laid out all the princesses dresses and had them organized and ready to PLAY!!! I loved how she put the shoes, that is the way they looked on the box. Very, Princess like :0)

They ARRIVED!! Hailey is in the green (TinkerBell) and
Oliva in the blue (Cinderella).

After Morgan got home from school, we sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY and had cake and ice cream, followed with MORE present opening. Morgan made her a BEAUTIFUL Mermaid coloring page. We framed it, so Jos could hang it in her room. Joslyn really wanted a trash can for her room, everyone else had one but, her....so she got a trash can that Morgan decorated with duck tape for her...

For dinner, she wanted BACON yes, BACON.....so, we added a side of pancakes with her BACON and she was a HAPPY CAMPER!! She choose the color of pancakes she wanted.

Joslyn wanted to take cupcakes to Preschool for her BIRTHDAY treat....BUT, she wanted some for boys (fishing pole) and some for girls (flowers). It was fun making them and the kids LOVED them!!!

SMITTY, We Miss You!!!

I have to share a story....Smitty, my kids GREAT GRANDPA passed away last year. He was a one of kind man, an incredible person. Our little Joslyn, since he passed away prays in EVER pray, anytime a day and asks for him to come back alive. It is the sweetest most tender prayer. She talks about him often and misses him ALWAYS.  Tonight she came in my room and said that she was missing Great Grandpa Smith, I gave her a hug and sent her back to bed. A few minutes later she was absolutely SOBBING and couldn't breathe because her heart missed him so much. I ran in her room and kneeled by her bed and we hugged. Her sister Rylee heard the discussions and brought in the program for Smitty's funeral, she had in her special box of things. On the front cover is a picture of Smitty and his wife Naoma, from the earlier years, inside is another picture of him younger. Joslyn took the program and started just sobbing again, she said, "I need a picture of the old Grandpa, my GREAT GRANDPA...I need to see him old." I ran into my computer found the pictures from his 90th birthday party, 2 years earlier. I printed off a picture of us with Smitty and took it into her. We taped it to her bed. She felt better and just kept touching the picture. We talked over and over again that we were going to see him again. Lots of questions were asked, many were answered.
We said goodnight again, and 5 minutes later she was sobbing....what a sweet little spirit. She is now down in her Daddy's arms, who else better then a Daddy to love you, like his Grandpa use to love him. Hopefully she can be comforted and go to sleep. Sweet memories. I love a child's TENDER HEARTS!!!

On another note...Luke just came running in the room and looked up at Morgan in excitement and said, "Morgan you are Morgan, not a Zombie, I am so excited you are not a Zombie"..seriously, never a dull moment.

Our First of Many.....

I am going to try and retell this story in the gory, traumatic way that it happened. So, you can fully have the experience with us :0)
It all started with the typical day...Rylee got home from school, we got her homework done and then she went off to play Mario with Luke on the Wii. Morgan arrives home about an hour later. She is upstairs doing homework, yelling for me to help. Joslyn asks for her 20th snack of the day. She settles in on the kitchen chair at the table eating a snack and watching Mario on the Ipad (can you tell me kids are obsessed with Mario lately).
While, I am upstairs helping Morgan there is a crying, then screaming, then BLOODY murder screaming that comes from the kitchen. As I leap down the stairs, I think only touching 3 stairs of the 12, to see Jos on her knee's on the ground, covering her mouth...SCREAMING!!! As I scooped her up, trying assess the situation..by then the other kids running to see what happened. At this point we know it is the mouth region and there is a GROSS AMOUNT of blood, running from Joslyn's hand covering her mouth. At that point I am trying calm Joslyn down and still don't know where the blood was coming from.
Rylee comes running up and asked what happened, I tell her I have no idea and am trying to figure that out...Rylee sees the amount of blood and starts screaming and yelling, that I need to do something..and points out how much blood is coming out of her mouth..while muttering is JOSLYN GOING TO DIE....Joslyn at that points starts crying even harder because she was GOING TO DIE.....SERIOUSLY PEOPLE WORK WITH ME . I send Rylee of to get the DARKEST colored rag (learned that from my Mom, so they don't see the amount of blood)..we sop up the blood and see that her top bottom lip is cut. So, we sit and cuddle for a minute letting Josyln suck on ice...but I noticed that there is still blood dripping down her chin...WHAT!?!?!? Where the heck is that coming from...as I assess the situation again, I notice that there is a cut on the outside of her bottom lip. Yep, you guessed it, her top teeth went through her entire bottom lip...it was a straight cut.
I had no idea where any urgent cares were, so I yelled for Morgan to come and hold Joslyn, so I could call around and get addresses and such...I totally not using the best judgement at this time, tell Morgan that her teeth had came all the way through her bottom lip and she would probably need stitches and she needed to hold her while I found out where to take her.....YUP, not smart telling her what happened. Morgan starts crying and freaking out...so, I looked her in the eye and as a sweet mother told her, " YOU NEED TO GET IT TOGETHER AND HOLD YOUR SISTER".....it took me about 10- 15 minutes to call and get all the info I needed to take Jos to the urgent care.
Luckly, Morgan was able to watch the kids, start dinner and put them to bed. Boomer was in town, but was at a meeting, missing all the fun action.
The next part I will spare you the LLLOOOONNNNGGGG details. After 2 hours waiting, the doctor said, they couldn't stitch it and that it would heal nicely in a few days. By the time we got home Jos and I were starving, this all happened at 5:30. We washed up the rest of her blood stain and sent her to bed. She woke up with a puffy lip, and her top tooth hurting (she keep touching her tooth to see if it still hurt throughout the day). We put medicine on her lip band aided her up and sent her to Preschool. because she was not about to miss VALENTINE'S day!!!
The part that helped the best, was the lady that checked us in at the urgent care, did the same thing when she was little and showed Joslyn the scar. So, Jos new what to expect.
So, after all the crazy moments Jos has a sweet little mark, still healing. She was a trooper. Rylee called a few times while we were at the urgent care needing to talk to Joslyn to make sure was okay and not dying. Funny girl!!! She was greeted with lots of love and hugs when we got home.

OH, I forgot to write what she did for her teeth to come through her lip. I didn't find this out till we got to the urgent care, when Joslyn was finally calm and could talk. She was just scooting up on the chair and fell off hitting her chin on the arm of her chair. Obviously just perfect enough to send her teeth through her lip.
Here is her sweet little freckled face and a healing cut....

PRESCHOOL!!!!

Joslyn started Preschool this year, she was sooooooo EXCITED!! She had to start about a month after her sisters, that was a LOOONGGGG month.
She is going to the Preschool at the high school. So, there is 1 teacher, 27 high school students and 20 preschoolers. It is a little chaotic, to say the least. But, she loves it and the students and so sweet to her. When she leaves she gets a choir of students yelling, "BYE JOSLYN". So, cute!!

This is her on her first day, her school starts at 7:45 and she usually doesn't get out of bed till after 8:00, so we are getting use to the early rising. She was half asleep in her Preschool picture. The top right is her and her friend Olivia. She has 3 friends of her going to that school, so it makes for a fun, crazy carpool.

I'm Proud To Be An American!!

Joslyn LOVES this song, she wanted to watch on YouTube.....I love it because she SINGS along with it...I actually got it on video....She was eating a PopTart, so cute!!!

YEAH!! Joslyn Gets Her OWN Bed!!!

My girls have all gone through this stage of needing there own bed. Rylee was sleeping with Morgan in her Queen size bed, but then she decided she needed her OWN bed..so Boomer built her a sweet bed, click HERE. Now, Jos is sharing a bed with Morgan, but now needs her OWN bed. We didn't have space for a twin, so, I googled some plans to make a toddler bed. It was soooooooo fun to make. I went and got all the wood and my husband and I spent the afternoon, cutting, sanding, painting. Joslyn is now a proud of owner of her own little bed. YEAH!!!
Morgan is loving have her own bed after 6 years of sharing with sisters ;0)

I got it all primed and painted, but as Morgan would say, "I had to do my Ali touch to it". I sanded all the edges and stained them brown, to give it that, "OH, CUTE" look. It turned out FABULOUS!!!!

A closer look of the "Ali Touch"

My little helpers cleaning it off

And the finished product. She is now sharing a room with her brother.

THE BROWN BEAR....the story: At the bottom of the post I am going to give you the site, so you can make your own bed. On this person's site, the finished product had a brown bear on the bed. So, my daughter was SURE she HAD to have a BROWN BEAR on the bed.  So, funny. Thank goodness we owned a brown bear, and it sits proudly on the bed!!!

And now Joslyn has moved in..look close I think you can still see the bed :0)

Oh, the details. The funniest thing was when she was organizing all of her critters, she kept saying to herself, "It just needs something else", seriously, I think your good!!!

And the finished product being used!! AAAHHHH!!!! I am so proud!!!

(notice the kitty's at the end of the bed have been turned around to watch her sleep. She does that every night!!

More Birthday Stories

I forgot to document the obsession Joslyn had with her birthday. About month before her birthday, I kept asking her what she wanted for her birthday. I figured she would be a typical almost three years old and say something new every time asked her. BUT, no not my child she had three requirements for her birthday and she said those three things every time I asked here..so I knew I had to find them. Her first request was a Pet shop (easy), the second request was a purple bunny (it was close to Easter not to hard, I thought) the last request was a SKUNK....yes, you read it right a skunk.
Let's back up a little bit to tell you were the obsession of a skunk came from. Rylee was learning about the letter "SK" in kindergarten, with that they were able to bring something that started with the letters "SK". We were at my Mom's and she told Rylee that my Dad had a pelt of a skunk, that she could borrow and take to school. So, my Dad went and got the pelt to show the girls...he brought this "REAL" pelt of a skunk and the girls freaked. It scared them to death, especially Joslyn...I might had it didn't help that my Dad was making the skunk dance around like it was real. Anyway, it took some convincing to show Joslyn it was real but was not alive..I had to show her that it was just the skin and fur of the skunk. Joslyn after realizing she was safe, she fell in love with this skunk. She would hold its little paws and dance around the house, she sang to it and loved it all day. It was to funny. She was so excited we got to take it home for a few days so Rylee could take it to school. So, the love of a skunk begin.
That is why she wanted a skunk. I have to admit I was a little worried that she would be disappointed that I gave her a stuffed animal skunk and not a pelt. I saw a few skunks dead on the side of the road and wondered if I had time to get them skinned (EWWWWW, not a chance).
So, as the days got closer to her birthday, I had searched the town of Ogden for a skunk and I had no luck. I mean really why would anyone want a skunk as a toy anyway. But, every time I continued to ask her what she wanted it was the same three things every time. It was the Saturday before he birthday and I had one more store that I was praying would have skunk. AND THEY DID, back behind a bunch of stuffed animals there was a little stuffed skunk. AND she loved it, she screamed and yelled, "MY SKUNK, MY SKUNK". It was all worth it. So, that is why the picture of her holding skunk is so precious.

Joslyn loving her stuffed skunk in her brand new tent that her Grandma got her for her birthday. PRICELESS!!!

KIDS!!

You know when you have those moments, when your child is making a mess, but you don't care because you get a few minutes to yourself....I knew Joslyn was taking the movies out but, this is what I found when I checked on her a few minutes later...too funny!!
